The Moonlight Tandoori located down the Cowley Road is one of the best Indian restaurants in Oxford. As you arrive you are always greeted by a friendly smile and staff waiting to show to your seat.

The restaurants decor is traditional Indian, but not too garish. There are some lovely and interesting murals on the walls. There are various seating plans from intimate tables for two to huge tables to cater for larger parties.

The menu offers a wide selection for all courses and many set menu choices too. The food is fantastic I can personally recommend, the Balti dishes, Chicken Korma, Chicken Jalfrezi and the Vegetable Byrani - delicious. The restaurant offers a variety of the usual beers along with some more traditional options such as Cobra, Tiger and Kingfisher, a definite must.

As for deserts they offer the usual Indian sweets, nothing to write home about on that front, but after the feast you'll have just eaten you will have no room!

I have been to the restaurant on numerous occasions in smaller groups and for a large party and I can tell you the atmosphere is brilliant. It can get a little busy, on a Saturday night, as expected so call beforehand to make a reservation.
