Proudly proclaiming themselves the number 1 for Chicken, Pizza, Kebabs, Flame Grilled Burgers, Ribs, Jackets, Pasta and Mexican, it is not entirely certain what SFC stands for. Perhaps 'Southern Fried Chicken', (which is, I presume, the only thing they used to sell), but who can tell. Situated on Marston Road, I have never had the pleasure of visiting the premises, but joy of joys, they do deliver (so long as your order comes to over £8), and so I prepared myself for an evening of pigging out in front of the TV.

The choice is overwhelming - 11 different pizzas (up to an eye-watering 14" diameter), burgers, hot dogs, chicken (southern fried, naturally), jacket potatoes, kebabs, nachos, burritos, chimichangas, cannelloni, lasagne etc etc etc. Unfortunately, I was unable to order one of everything, for fear of becoming obscenely fat. So instead I went for the slimmer's choice, deep fried mushrooms, Nachos and a Burritto. And 30 minutes later my order arrived.

Don't expect your food to look gorgeous - the 20 minute drive to my house had not been kind to my nachos (not the prettiest of meals, even at the best of times), but, hey, it tasted like nachos, so, I presume that was what I was eating. The mushrooms did look like mushrooms though. The Burritto was not so crash hot, the cheese topping managing to congeal into a rubbery mass. Still, I stuffed it down my throat. With eating complete, I had to retire to my bed for a lie down. Is this a compliment? Well, I was completely full by the end of it, so make of that what you will. Should you order from SFC? Ask yourself the following questions: Am I a lazy bastard who cannot be bothered to walk to the nearest kebab van? Am I a rugby player? Do I want to order takeaway with a damn sight more choice than the average? If the answer to any (or all) of these is yes, then make that call. Oh yes, they also deliver beer. And milk. And freshly baked baguettes.
