More fine sandwich-bar-come-cafés. A tall and narrow shop opposite Balliol on Broad Street, with a few seats upstairs and some outside seating for summer hidden away at the back (and punters queuing onto the street almost all hours), its sister shop nestles on the ground floor in the covered market. As per usual with covered market eateries, it is almost impossible to get a seat at the weekend - a favourite trick of wanna-be customers is to stare dolefully through the window at the customers stuffing their faces. Most of the food is inventive and tasty with a definite Italian influence. You can also go for the extremely-low-on-fat fry up if you are feeling unadventurous. Drinks are fine too, (I highly recommend the ice coffee) and this gets a good thumbs up, so long as you can endure being crammed onto tables with strangers, and can put up with those dolefull wanna-be customers staring through the window. Good value too...
