Boss’s Kebab Centre
Castle Street, opposite Liason Chinese Restaurant
& Summertown, Banbury Rd (nr South Parade)

The location of Boss's on Castle Street is evidently poised to catch the post-Studio (or 5th Ave, or whatever it's called now) munchies crew, and catch them it does. Boss in Summertown is slightly more mysterious (is it the same van on a different night? who goes there apart from Algerians {see comment below}? how much do the chips cost? let us know if you do!).
Our carnivorous young kebab correspondent applied his new rating system to Boss's Castle Street branch and came up with the following results and comments.

specific meal & comment:

"I ordered a doner & chips & a coke. At first it seemed that Boss had been too skimpy on the meat - but the oil made up for it (not sure that's a good thing!).
The coke was warm, so not at all refreshing."

This meal was purchased at 1.30am on a Saturday night/Sunday morning, 31/07/04.

Boss in Summertown - a consumer's comment

"Exquisite chicken kebabs can be had from the kebab van parked at the top of the parade in Banbury Road, Summertown.
All the Algerian student pilots from Kidlington Airport go the extra distance to buy their kebabs at this van because it's the best in Oxford! I am guilty of being a fallen vegetarian because I tried the boyfriend's chicken kebab and keep going back for more. I have eaten kebabs all over the UK now: Harrow; Edinburgh; Glasgow; Chester; York; Manchester; Oxford of course, but none compare to the Summertown van's. The chicken is tender and juicy, not dry or chewy like others'. If you try it you won't go anywhere else again. I am told that the other variety of kebabs are just as fine, but I haven't tried - however, 100s of Algerians can't be wrong!"
