The time has come for carols! We’ve got a selection of free carol events to warm your cockles and your vocal cords, starting with Crisis Skylight’s free carol service on the 13th at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin to raise awareness for their work supporting those experiencing homelessness across Oxfordshire. Expect festive refreshments and community merriment, with an evening full of classic festive hymns led by the Jericho Singers. While the event is free, donations are always welcome to aid Crisis in its goal to provide shelter and support for unhoused people within our community. Be sure to register for a spot to avoid disappointment!
Alternatively, St Aldate’s welcomes you for a free ‘Peace on Earth’ Sunday carol service, led by their worship team and choir. Come together for a rendition of the Christmas story told through choral favourites, with a message of peace and goodwill to all. Booking is also essential for this event.
Or for wassailing in the great outdoors, head further afield to Thame, where the Thame Concert Band and Church join forces on Christmas Eve for Carols around the Christmas Tree. With mulled wine and mince pies aplenty, just turn up and sing your heart out!
