Advent Calendar 2023
Opening Hours (Oxford High St): Mon - Sat: 10am - 6pm. Sun 11am - 5pm.
The Crafters Emporium first opened a small shop in Didcot in 2019. While that location has since closed, the business has expanded to Faringdon, Kidlington, Bicester and Oxford, with wares from over 100 crafters on their shelves.
Today, we’re shining a light on their Oxford shop, which sits unassumingly on the High St. You’d be forgiven for thinking it a pop-up from its flat, unilluminated pink sign, but inside, the shop is impressively large and thoughtfully, thoroughly stocked. When you step through the door, the jewellery selection is the first thing on offer, from artsy statement pieces to delicate semi-precious stones and metals, to meaningful crystals with accompanying instructions.
Candles, from enticingly fragranced soy blends to pure rolled beeswax, claim their own section. There’s a vast baby and small child section with onesies, bibs, toys and more.
The pricing is quite reasonable as well - with many items under £10 and most in the £10- £25 range, making it a viable way to still support local businesses in what will be a cash-strapped Christmas for many.
Part of the appeal of Crafter’s Emporium is the aesthetic range, from the kitsch and cutesy to the beautiful and almost awe-inspiringly ornate.
There are artisanal plates and humorous mugs. Notebooks screen printed with sassy slogans and notebooks made with handstitched leather and sprayed edges.
And that’s the tip of the iceberg - from tea towels to aprons, local artwork, keychains and badges, soaps and bath bombs, there’s truly something for everyone in this shop.
