Classic tales at Christmas

Today we’re turning our focus to some reliable favourites for delivering spellbinding Christmas shows. Starting with the ever-impressive Creation Theatre. Last year, their musical take on Dickens' A Christmas Carol had us calling it ‘a dazzling achievement’ with a ‘gleeful punk edge’ and their take on Hansel and Grettel looks to be just as revitalizing. Once again at the North Wall, expect a gripping and uplifting show for the whole family.

Wild Goose Theatre have made their name with rich, thoughtful productions of literary classics, from Frankenstein to Hamlet. Naturally, it was only a matter of time before we were treated to A Sherlock Holmes Christmas. This comic production gathers some of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most festive stories about the eponymous detective for a witty evening of mystery and myrrh-th.

Finally, acclaimed equine epic War Horse returns to the New Theatre for Christmas. The tender tale of a boy and his beloved horse in wartime is renowned for its incredible puppetry and moving storytelling. Bring tissues!
