Comedy and music to check out this January

Some gigs in January seem almost designed to lift our spirits. On Saturday 11th Jericho Comedy return to the Oxford Playhouse to put on their annual Oxfordshire Mind Comedy Gala. This is an event packed with laughs all for a good cause, with every ticket helping to fund the crucial work of Oxfordshire Mind. So successful it encompasses two gigs, previous years have seen such comics as James Acaster, Rosie Jones, Nish Kumar and Rachel Parris perform and this year will surely be packed with some amazing comics.

Also taking place at the end of the month is the first ever Oxford Improv Festival, packing in three days of shows and workshops. There will be sessions and performances from The Oxford Imps, House of Improve and Awkward Actors.

Finally for a more family friendly gig, Nick Cope is back at the North Wall with I’ve Lost My Bobble Hat! The CBeebies star (Nick Cope’s Popcast) brings an hour of fun-filled musical hits to the stage for a show perfect for children from 3+.
