Advent Calendar 2024
Last year Dear Father Christmas wasn’t prepared for Christmas and it looks like he hasn’t learnt his lesson! This year in Hurry Up Father Christmas he seems to be delaying his departure, making tea and losing his keys. We suspect he might need the audience’s help in this beguiling theatre show for 3-6s.
In our experience this is an age group that love to help, so what could possibly go awry in the delightful chaos of Santa’s sleigh shed? With musical numbers, relaxed cushion seating, and performers who actually invite stage invasions and singing along, this is going to be popular, so book fast if you have little ones to introduce to the delights of theatre.
Meanwhile, Emma Boor is a shining star of children’s theatre and this year she’s back at Pegasus. She’s written an inventive and pun-filled take on classic tale The Elves and The Shoemaker. Children aged 2-8 are the intended audience, but we might just know some adults who look forward to Wild Boor shows and just use their children as an excuse…
With silliness that’s always thoughtful, music that’s tuneful, and participation that’s inclusive not embarrassing, you can meet fairy tale characters, puppets, GIANT shoes, light play, and lots of laughter. Bring your best pun-groans.
Selected performances are extra-relaxed and BSL interpreted,
Hurry Up Father Christmas: BT Studio, Wed 4th - Sun 29th Dec, times vary, £20 adults, £16 children
The Elves and The Shoemaker: Pegasus Theatre, Wed 11th - Tue 24th Dec, times vary, £9-£12
