To mark the Queen's 90th birthday. Bun Throwing is a 400 year-old tradition unique to Abingdon. Councillors in full ceremonial robes climb to the top of the County Hall and throw around 6,000 specially baked currant buns down for the crowd. An exhibition in the museum shows footage from previous bun-throwing events, and some dried buns including one that is 100 years old.
