Family-friendly Towersey Festival is back for its 55th year with performances from folk stars, to local favourites and a wide range of genres. Alongside the music there will be a huge number of workshops, covering everything from ceilidh dancing to making and playing your own musical instruments. As ever, there is a dedicated programme just for kids, with no fewer than three venues within the festival designated for junior attendees, with specially chosen youth artists and theatre performances. There's also an emphasis on keeping the festival eco-friendly, with reduced energy usage, recyclable and compastable food packaging, and a 'Forest' theme to the Creative Quarter, all about looking after wildlife.
Tickets are still available for the whole weekend, as well as day tickets and, new for 2019, Taster Tickets (which include access to the music stages) for just £12. The organisers promise the toilets are clean, the showers are hot(!) and the atmosphere is jovial, so this could be the perfect way to hold on to the last bank holiday of the summer...
