To celebrate the opening of its Pandemonium of Parrots display Birdland will be hosting a week-long celebration of these exotic birds.
Birdland Park and Gardens, Rissington Rd, Bourton-on-the-Water, Glos, GL54 2BN, Sat 15 February - Sun 23 February 2020
Did you know that the collective noun for parrots is a pandemonium? That’s what you can expect to find at Birdland this half term – a riot of colourful feathers and distinctive squawks from the park’s new exotic habitat. The team have created a special quiz trail, allowing budding ornithologists to explore the park while discovering a range of species of the exotic birds, including cockatoos, lorikeets, and the endangered scarlet macaw.
As well as a fun chance to become a human perch, the experience at Birdland will support the work of the World Parrot Trust, whose conservation and welfare projects counter the effects of habitat destruction. The parrot trail is included in the cost of entry to the park, which is home to 500 birds. A day out that’s different, fun and educational is worth venturing outside of Oxfordshire for!
