On Wednesday night, we headed down to the Slug and Lettuce for Yellow Elephant Promotions' RuPaul themed quiz. We were met by met by the delightfully enthusiastic host Chelsea, who as well as being an excellent quiz-master, took the time to introduce herself and chat with each team. After getting in a round of drinks, we put our heads together to brainstorm punny team names.

There were six rounds in total - three focused on the ins and outs of each series, plus a quotes round, a picture round about the hilarious Snatch Game and our chance to design and then don a swiftly-crafted (and toilet-paper based) outfit and hit the runway. The questions were incredibly specific throughout, and though I've seen quite a few series of Drag Race and have (what I thought was) an alright knowledge of the show, I was of absolutely no use to my team, only knowing the answers to questions that were met with the comment 'that's soooo easy, everyone will know that'.

The evening, aided by many cocktails from the Slug and Lettuce's 2 for 1 menu, was raucous fun and had I known more about the show I would have enjoyed it even more. Chelsea reminded us as we were leaving that Yellow Elephant Promotions also run quizzes on topics such as Friends, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Disney and Marvel. Sadly I know even less about these franchises than about Drag Race, though my teammates seemed very keen to go back for the Game of Thrones night! Next time they run their Peep Show quiz I might be of more help...
