Glittering RADA graduates are photographed in black and white by relative newcomer to the genre of Portraiture, Cambridge Jones. The stirring nature of the Welsh landscape is reflected in the expression of Sir Anthony Hopkins and the gaze of Juliet Stevenson is made even more piercing when obstructed by a gauze curtain.
The photographs capture the charisma of familiar thespians, such as the inspirational quality of Kenneth Branagh, in addition to more recent alumni. A funky action shot of Andrew Lincoln and a bold stare from Maxine Peake are included in the show. Cambridge Jones approaches his subject from different angles, metaphorically when portraying a serious James Dreyfus and literally when Jane Horrocks is photographed in front of oblique modern architecture.
The images cleverly reference the Actor's style. Timothy Spall adopts a quirky character and the beauty of Joan Collins is reflected in an ornate mirror. Escape the Paparazzi in favour of images that reach out beyond their two dimensions. Soak up the light and shade of this exhibition and relish a simple yet striking photograph of Alan Rickman.
