Tired from too many Christmas parties? Exhausted from running after the last presents? Worried about preparing the perfect turkey for the family? Longing for a moment of peaceful escape from all that Christmas madness? In that case "A Little Christmas Night Music" is exactly the thing you need. Sit down, relax, and enjoy a beautiful soirée with the Opera della Luna, a unique small ensemble of singers and musicians performing at the OFS Studio from the 19th – 23rd of December. What these people present is not simply another typical evening of carol songs and nativity plays. Instead, “A Little Christmas Night Music" is an eclectic selection of musical gems from opera, operetta and musicals, that are linked in one way or another to Christmas or the winter season. It includes highlights from Carmen, La Bohème, West Side Story, Showboat and les Misèrables, but also some less known numbers from Lehar and Sondheim, interspersed by a variety of familiar, as well as exotic Christmas songs. Some of the pieces have an obvious link to the season, like three unusual songs on silent nights. Other tunes however deal with relationships, passion, jealousy, and even divorce - maybe a rather unusual connection to Christmas, but aren’t these the thoughts that can rise to our heads when handing round the Christmas pudding after getting the wrong present yet again, after spending days of intensive harmony with the in-laws? The songs are presented by four very talented young singers - two female and two male voices - and one piano, in a simple and intimate setting simply framed by red roses and velvet curtains, exactly the right scenery that lets you enjoy the beautiful music without overpowering your senses. No doubt, seeing this show puts you in a happy and relaxed mood, anticipating the Christmas Night and all its pleasant surprises!
