If you’ve never heard of Korfball before, it’s a fast-moving, mixed-gender sport that has ‘similarities to basketball, and handball, but very different’. The Oxford Isis Korfball Club welcomes all ages and abilities – the current age range of the club is from 20 to 40+, and total beginners are welcome alongside 15 year veterans. Though competitive, the rules are designed so that there’s no advantage for any body type – success is dependant on cooperation – which makes it particularly inclusive, hence Oxford Isis Korfball Club’s claim to be the friendliest sports club in Oxford. The club is one of 6 clubs in the Oxfordshire Korfball Association – they all battle it out in the annual Oxfordshire Korfball League, so there’s everything to play for!
