This intimate examination of how relationships can evolve portrays the importance of connecting to another person - even if that connection is only made by talking through a wall. The play is just 70 minutes long, with two actors. This and the small venue (fifty seats) serves to draw the audience in, making them feel very involved with the action (if you can call it 'action'!).
The play is interesting, although in places slightly disjointed; it isn't always clear exactly what is happening or whether the two actors can hear each other. Both were portraying the difficult relationships they had experienced with others not present - and in talking about these relationships, they found some peace (perhaps partially through the process of articulating aloud to themselves). The sense of space on the stage between the two rooms was not clearly defined - an actual wall or barrier could have been useful in showing the division between them. I understood that the premise of the play was based on psychic connection, but didn't feel it was portrayed especially clearly.
The actors obviously had a bond with each other and were competent in showing the various emotions throughout the play. I enjoyed some of the dialogue and did feel involved. Overall, the play's theme was interesting but could have been even further developed. I felt that the ideas could have been clearer and the ending could have used a stronger resolution. An interesting, enjoyable experience though, well acted and worth a look.
