Win tickets to The Phoenix Picturehouse pop-up outdoor season at Lady Margaret Hall

Win one of 6 pairs of film tickets!

This Summer the Phoenix Picturehouse is going on the road, moving all the way from Walton Street to Norham Gardens. Over two weekends, The Phoenix in collaboration with Lady Margaret Hall will be screening six cult and classic movies for your blissful outdoor viewing pleasure. The season will consist of:

Labyrinth [U] - Fri 18th July
Grease [PG]- Sat 19th July
Casablanca [U] - Sun 20th July
The Grand Budapest Hotel [15] - Fri 8th August
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off [12A] - Sat 9th August
Singin’ in the Rain [U] - Sun 10th August

And we've got a pair of tickets to give away for each screening!

For the chance to win tickets to one of these cult films in an idyllic setting, we want to know your perfect pairing of film and venue. Maybe it's Shaun of the Dead screened in a pub, Reservoir Dogs in a warehouse, or The Great Gatsby at Ronnie Scott's. Except don't use those ones, that'd be cheating. I would nominate the movie Dans Paris to be projected onto a screen at a historic country property in the summertime, preferably a derelict looking building with a lawned area, a large wall for the movie to be projected onto. With great sound around the seating area to best make the best if the sublime soundtrack. 
The ideal film for me would be either The Shining or Pulp Fiction and the ideal location would be... Does it have to be in England? Oxford? If abroad, I'd say Neuschwanstein, the castle, in Germany. If it had to be in England, Brighton beach. And Oxford... The Botanic Gardens.
Jurassic Park at the Natural History Museum. A film that I did get the chance to see was Gladiator at the Royal Albert Hall. Amazing!
My ideal setting and film would be Pride and Prejudice at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire.

I would love to see Kelly's Heroes in a tank, somewhere dangerous with uneven terrain.

How about film noire, in the dark...

Death In Venice on a gondola

Cape Fear on a boat.

Jaws on a bigger boat.

Sitting in a fourth-floor apartment using a telescope to watch Rear Window through the window of the opposite neighbours' house. Preferably with my leg in a cast.

I'd like to see Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery whilst sitting on a groovy red velvet couch in Carnaby Street! Yeah baby! Sorry, couldn't help myself. Thanks!
In the Mood for Love - in a 1960s restaurant in Hong Kong.
I would love to see Night at the Museum at the natural hostory museum. 

I think Chocolat on the banks of our river would be lovely, with a box of chocolates, and some boats bobbing in the background to fit in with the film!

How about Shawshank Redemption in a prison!!

Black Cat White Cat - because it is a fabulously fun film, endearing, exciting and with a great soundtrack.

On a barge (on the Danube but the Thames would make a decent alternative) outside on the deck, floating gently down the water as the sun sets with cocktails and popcorn.

It'd have to be Mamma Mia sat on the beach on a Greek island :)

The Breakfast Club at an 80's club in the capital, one of my favourite ever films :)

Titanic on a punt on the Thames - if a power cable long enough could be found.

Tucking into a royale with cheese in an American diner as Pulp Fiction plays.

A sing-along screening of Moulin Rouge! at the real Moulin Rouge in Paris, together with plenty of absinthe, would be amazing!

I would want to watch Labyrinth in the centre of Hampton Court Maze, Grease in the Big Top at Gifford's Circus, Casablanca on the tarmac at Oxford Airport on a foggy evening, Grand Budapest Hotel in the Pera Palas Hotel, Istanbul (where they have a lift just like the one in the film), Ferris Bueller's Day Off on my day off, and Singin' in the Rain by any lamp post in Oxford's High Street.

Failing that, I'd like to watch them in the gardens of LMH!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in New College quadrangle!

Well it's got to be Ghostbusters in a swanky American hotel plagued by a focused, Non-Terminal Repeating Phantasm, or a Class 5 Full Roaming Vapor. (Slimer)

Failing that The Empire Strikes Back in a galaxy far far away (that has a big cinema).

Lord of the Rings in the Hobbiton Village down in New Zealand.

I think my perfect pairing of film screening and setting would have to be watching Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet at the Globe.

I'd like to Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid at the top of Snowdon.

Quadrophenia on Brighton Beach! Watching my favourite film at an outdoor screening!

Inglourious Basterds in La Gamaar, the Parisian cinema that features in the film. That'd be terrifying!

(Once, my fiancee and I saw the lovely animated film The Illusionist in the Cameo Picturehouse, Edinburgh. In the middle of the film, the main character walks into the very same cinema and watches a few seconds of a live action film in the screen we were sitting in! Very meta.)
