Despite the fact that Dano excels in the role as the young Wilson, the film just never builds enough momentum or injects enough interest in any of the characters to be exciting. It just ends up as yet another dull American biopic of a pop star. Maybe it's because I'm tired of seeing John Cusack with dyed hair and mascara in every film for the past 10 years.
