Great movie, very funny but deadly serious at the same time. Cracking cast too, and with them all playing out of character roles adds to the entertainment. How many films have there been on the 2007 USA stock market crash? I've lost count, but this is the essential one. The whole complicated mess unfolds as the main protaganists plot to make huge amounts of cash by 'shorting' the housing finance crisis. The film highlights the sheer incompetence and corruption inherent in the whole system, and how the establishment closed ranks to save their own skins, whilst Joe Public took the hit. It's not often a film can be entertaining and educational at the same time.
