This film captures beautifully the wonderful bond and trust that develops between an unbroken horse and a cowboy. Behind it all is the sheer madness of a cowboy attempting to ride ferociously bucking stallions and massive bulls at rodeo events that appear to be still embedded in the mindset of the 1880's Wild West.
It's also an extremely sad film where ultimately these almost primeval men are doomed to fade away after a few years of glory, either with multiple mental and physical injuries or to drugs and alcohol, and living in poverty. About as hard hitting as a docu-drama can get!
