This is a pleasant, enjoyable action-packed kids' fantasy - much better than The Golden Compass, not quite approaching the level of Time Bandits. About as good as Inkheart, I'd say. It will be fun for grown-ups who know some Greek mythology to be able to predict everything that happens in the plot, and a fun introduction to Greek mythology for moppets that don't know any.
The hero was cute and very engaging, the production top notch with excellent FX. My only reservation is that the storyline is so tightly controlled that there is no real sense of danger or menace for Percy and his good-looking friends. Good, clean (not even any snogging) harmless fun, as you would expect from a PG movie.
