My expectations were high for 'The Girl Who Played With Fire' as the prequel '...Dragon Tattoo' had me hooked from beginning to end. The friend with me had not seen '...Dragon Tattoo' and was underwhelmed with '...Played with Fire'.
So was I. I did not really understand the 'plot' - so I read the book. What a difference between book and film! Over 3/4 of the book is excluded, so the 'plot' details never made it into the film. Also 'things' that happened in the film did not happen in the book. Cannot rate 'Dragon Tattoo' high enough, but '...Played with Fire', whilst it was well-acted and had brilliant photography, had a dire script.
