With Scorsese directing & DiCaprio lending their heavyweight names, this movie promises much. However, within the first 30 minutes you get the feeling that this film is going to take a long time to make its point. I'm not one of these impatient cinema going chaps that wants all the action and a fullfilling ending within the standard 100 minutes, but this film tried my patience. I felt it was repetitive and after the three lots of coke sniffing and hooker screwing I was ready for a plot twist which never came.

I came away feeling that I had somewhat wasted nearly 3 hours when I could have been watching something more engaging & rewarding in the screen next door.

Di Caprio is simply awesome in the role of his life (normally I'm ambivalent about the boy-man actor) Yes, the movie sprawls at 3 hours long, but for me it takes you where American Hustle vaguley attempted to go. It's Scorcese at almost his best again - with some great banter and fun. Just let yourself go and it'll all be worth it. This, for me, really brought back to life the sheer unregulated fun that some of us may remember from the late 80s. But if you're a pious moralistic austerity hound stay clear, this may just offend your sensibilities, suckers!
