Much of the interior of our pub dates from the 1500s when an old tenement belonging to a moneylender was rebuilt as a tavern. The chequerboard was the symbol of the money-changer, having its origins in the checked cloth used by the Romans in their calculations. This pub once exhibited strange animals discovered by 17th Century explorers and technological marvels of the age.

Cherwell Collective helps the community cut carbon footprints through education and outreach. They reduce waste and help disadvantaged individuals. All are welcome at their Climatarian Kitchen, which offers fresh, hot meals, made with food that would otherwise be headed for landfill. At the same time, stock up on your own waste-saving ingredients at their food surplus market. These are both operated on a pay-what-you-can basis, so they're affordable for all. What's more, proceeds from the sales support Cherwell Collective's work tackling food poverty in the community (eg through the Cherwell Larder) - so you can enjoy great food knowing that it's 'giving back' to people and planet in more ways than one.

The aim is to provide customers with a range of dishes that reflect the diversity of Asia. Taking favourites from Thailand and matching them with recipes from Japan, Malaysia and China. They directly source all the vegetables, herbs and spices used to make the sauces that go with the dishes. The menu is deliberately limited to 8-10 dishes at any one time, enabling Chozen to execute on freshness and quality.

Chutneys is the oldest surviving Indian restaurant in the Oxford City. Their menus are based on the highest quality produce and fresh seasonal ingredients from all corners of South East Asia. They use 100% vegetarian oil, containing no cholesterol - all ingredients are carefully sourced and they never use artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

The City Arms is a vibrant venue with great food, fantastic selection of drinks and a pleasant atmosphere. They welcome groups of all age groups and will welcome you whether it be for lunch or dinner or just a few cocktails. Big focus on sports and will stream all the major games you could want. Also have food to everyone's taste and dietary requirements.

They say "Oxford is home to a variety of shisha lounges, but we hope to make Cloud 10 your second home." Their marketing is keen on Fridays, and doesn't think much of Mondays. You can charge your phone and while away the time with a big shisha pipe and a big group of friends. The mocktails look grand and are served a in a variety of on-trend vessels. NB This bar serves Shisha but no alcohol.

The Coach and Horses Inn, Chislehampton is a charming 16th Century Inn offering guests a bar, restaurant and accommodation. Sitting in traditional English countryside, not far from the River Thame, the inn has a pleasant courtyard area and a separate large garden often used for BBQs. Inside, you’ll find bar, lounge and restaurant. This centuries-old former coaching inn includes a popular, oak beamed restaurant – justifiably proud of the seasonal a la carte menu, many dishes are prepared using locally sourced foods wherever possible. The bar includes a selection of local real ale, including Hook Norton and Loddon breweries as well as lagers and continental beers. A selection of fine wines from around the world is also available. Guest accommodation comprises nine en-suite double or twin bedrooms.

Small dishes and lots of them. Excellent vegan and vegetarian selection, nearly all gluten-free, and a beautifully clearly labelled menu. Under 10s eat free. Follow them on facebook for some excellent special offers (free hoppers in January, free food for mums on Mother's Day, to name a couple).
