It's a dangerously delicious place to cycle past on my way home from the gym, I can't help buying the spinach, ricotta and cumin pastry and the chickpea flour onion bhaji for my GF partner everytime I pass! Even better, when we have guests coming for dinner, we buy Maddi's homemade Persian frozen dinners (lamb and apricot tagine is to-die-for)....cook some rice or cous cous and impress your guests. He has been so kind teaching us new recipes and opening my eyes to cooking fish with tarragon (ghaliel mahi). I'm getting an education! If you are looking for farm fresh eggs, a warm pain au chocolat or decadent chocolate, this is the place for you.

Highly recommend the homemade Persian food - there's an expert and experienced chef at work here. The owner is also the cook and so is both knowledgeable and helpful. They provide useful supplies and some good bread available in the shop itself. A very welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

Bunters, North Oxford, in Hayfield Road, has changed hands this March 2015! Yippee!!! New staff too. The lovely friendly chatty new owner, Maddi, is making his own delicious Mediterranean and near Eastern food, and restocking the shop to bring it back to the deli we always used to know and love. He's already got a new milk order so organic milk is now cheaper in Bunter's than at the Coop in Summertown. Thank goodness! Can't wait to see the shop, and taste its new lines of produce, when he gives it a thorough makeover soon, with a new name too. :) Well done Maddi - a great start! (We are Hayfield Rd residents - so value this shop hugely).
