Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Angrid Thai. The quality of the food falls well short of what one would expect. Pad thai, one of the signature dishes of the cuisine, is poorly done. It is covered with a sickly sweet, gluey sauce and the only sign that it has been stir-fried is the amount of oil on the plate. If somebody had handed me that dish without saying what it was, I am not sure I would have been able to tell.

Nor can this place really be described as cheap. The prices here are the same as, or higher than, a number of nearby Thai places (which also have a nicer atmosphere).

The only reason to come here is if you are really in a hurry: the one clear plus point is that it is fast.

My understanding is that there have been some management or ownership changes since the reviews previously published on this site. Whatever the explanation, the standard is now disappointing.

I've been a frequent visitor to this restaurant (usually at least once a week for about 5 years), but over the last few months have found the quality (of service and food) has declined quite drastically. These days you're usually forced to wait a minimum of 10 minutes for service.

Sadly, I can no longer recommend Angrid Thai and would instead advise any potential customer to seek out one of the many other Thai restaurants in town.

I have to say that this is great Thai food at a good price. I love the curry here. The staff are nice and food comes out quickly. My only regret once was ordering the papaya salad as it didn't have any papaya. (The first time I ordered the salad it did have papaya and it was great however the second time it didn't and the staff said I just wasn't seeing it!) Overall it's good though.
