We ordered a home delivery from Everest last night (Thursday). The delivery was reasonably quick, and the driver very friendly.
Bitter gourd was - as ever - delicious, and a really interesting foil to the sweeter and more full-bodied curry dishes. I would really recommend trying it if you haven't before - it's something you'd want as a side probably, with everyone having a bit. A little goes a long way!
Himalayan lamb was delicious, again, as per usual. Large, tender chunks of lamb in a very satisfying orange/red sauce. I think it may have tamarind or something else very more-ish and slightly sweet/sour. It really sets off the weight of the lamb.
Chicken Kali Mirch (chicken in onion/tomato sauce with coconut and chilli) was very tasty. Not one I've had before - now an addition to the regular menu.
Rice and chapatis/naans were perfectly acceptable. Lemon rice is nice.
I know home delivery can be tricky on the busy nights - I think this is testament to how popular Everest are. While no doubt more drivers would be great, perhaps if we all spread our Everests out to more days of the week, everything would be better! :)
When it comes, Everest never disappoints. 10/10
Ordered a takeaway from here, and it took 3 hours to arrive. I then realised they hadn't sent some of the order, and had sent the wrong side dish, I was then refused to amend this or be given even a partial refund.
It was a real shame, as the food is nice, but the takeaway service is appalling.
