The Glamping section at Cornbury festival is everything you’d expect; ranging from normal tents pitched in advance to huge ‘outdoor hotel’ rooms with double beds and dressing rooms - it is the perfect solution for the unseasoned camper. Tangerine Fields kindly offered me and my companion one of the former; a little 3-man tent with a blow up mattress, pitched before we arrived. When we got to the Tangerine Fields desk, we were greeted by lovely Liam, who showed us to our home for the weekend and gave us our sleeping bags. Tangerine Field’s sleeping bag policy is really nice; they provide brand new ones for you, and you can either keep them after the festival or leave them behind to be donated to various local, national and international charities, including Oxfam and Shelter.
Having the tent pitched before the festival and not having to take it down at the end was a huge bonus and meant we could just enjoy the festival without having to worry. The glamping experience at Cornbury is a whole package of special treatment: there is a transport system to take your luggage from the car park to your tent and then back at the end, there are special toilets and luxury showers (with lovely hot water and long queues), there is a food and drink area, and there is even a beauty parlour complete with hairdryers and straighteners.
My phone ran out of battery on the Saturday afternoon so I left it with the Tangerine Fields staff at the welcome tent. When I forgot to pick it up before the office closed, lovely Liam came to the rescue again and delivered it directly to my tent. The whole Tangerine Fields team were friendly, warm and generous and looked after me and my friend very well. Thank you!
