Having driven past for years we decided to call in post-dog walking and grab a bite to eat. We were greeted with a warm welcome, and a bowl of water was produced for our dogs. We were offered the extensive menu, especially for late afternoon, which included sandwiches and jackets, along with some main dishes and three choices of roast dinners. We both ordered the beef roast, and what a delicious meal; three vegetables, roast potatoes, home-made Yorkshire puddings and a three slices of well-carved beef - you could just see it was lovingly prepared. We cleared our plates and were offered deserts but couldn't manage it.

A quality Sunday roast at only £13 so great value considering the area. Well done to the landlord, Kevin I think. A great venue, fantastic food and we shall be back very soon!

Very disappointed to find the White House no longer caters for the locals.  A village pub should be where the villagers can gather and play darts, pool, bar billiards or cards, sing songs, have a good gossip and a laugh, not somewhere that just caters for those who have money.  Where have our Churchill pictures gone?

We revisited The White House after a not too positive earlier experience, and what a really lovely pub it now is!

I understand it is now under new ownership. From being a run-of-the-mill pub with dart boards, TV's etc, it is now a very pleasant establishment targeting the more clientele who apreciate tasteful decor and good food together with an intimate and very friendly atmosphere.

The new owners Caron and David, who is a well respected and very experienced chef with extensive London restaurant experience, have gone out of their way to create something that is now most rare in licensed establishments. It serves excellent food which is very well prepared and presented with that feeling it was made 'just for you!'. Everything was also very reasonably priced. The staff were so helpful and friendly and the Speckled Hen ale came from an obviously very well kept cellar.

The refurbished public areas were comfortable, discreetly lit and warm with comfortable areas around the log fire and bar which contributed towards making this a most enjoyable visit.

We really wished we lived closer to The White House, we would love to have it as our local as it's everything we could wish for. We will cerainly be visiting again soon and can't wait!

Recently moved to Bladon myself. Have been to the pub to eat once and the food was extremely good and very reasonably priced. Have also had takeaway fish and chips - beautifully light and not oily! The landlord, Wayne, is really nice and chatty. Top marks.
