An excellent evening. Well-written short plays, well acted, in a friendly atmosphere. It made fighting through the traffic and finding a parking place worthwhile. I loved every minute of it.
The nine short plays, centred around election night, fitted together perfectly. From the opening, improbable but wonderful dialogue between the Queen and a monster raving loony candidate in the middle of the night, to the old chap burying his dog, which had the audience utterly absorbed and clearly moved, through to the final play involving two old politicians from different sides who have finally been voted out, its humour gentle but telling, with the thoughtfulness that characterised the entire evening.
All nine playwrights are to be commended. Advertised as short plays performed script in hand, I had not been sure what to expect, but was very glad that I went. Wonderful stuff.
