Shezan stands on the 1st floor along a narrow passageway off the famous Oxford High Street. It dates from the early eighteenth century and is a grade II listed building built c. 1679. Shezan is Oxford’s only genuine Indian and Balti restaurant and is renowned for its wide selection of delicious freshly made dishes to suit everyone’s taste including vegetarians. Vital at Shezan is the skillful roasting and blending of spices to create the many unique masalas, essential for totally authentic Indian and Balti cuisine.

Apart from a brief hiatus when it was called something else, The Standard has been serving curries to Oxford restaurants since 1972, and is much beloved by student groups, for rowing club dinners and the like. It's fairly Standard (!) Indian restaurant fare, a little pricey, but with a good vegetarian selection.

Sticks’n’Sushi serve high-quality, fresh food based on a unique combination of traditional sushi and yakitori sticks from the grill. Situated alongside the attractive Windrush River and very much at the heart of the local village community in Swinbrook, The Swan has a rich history associated with it. The Inn is owned by the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire’s estate, the last of Mitford sisters, and – along with the neighbouring cottage – forms the residual part of the estate inherited by the family at the beginning of the nineteenth century.
