The Compton Swan is a gorgeous village pub with six letting bedrooms nestled in the village of Compton, Berkshire. Around 19.3 km from Newbury, The Compton Swan offers high-quality dining and stylish accommodation with free parking and Wi-Fi. Just over 30 minutes’ drive from Oxford and Reading, this Berkshire village inn has a large garden and a library area with log fire.

The Tile Shop Alehouse serves a curated selection of crafted ales, with frequent rotation. As well as ales and beers, they also serve a range of spirits, wines, and soft drinks, with an intimate, speakeasy atmosphere.

There's plenty of help choosing (and setting up/playing/learning) games, and some for sale if you can't bear to part with them. If your friends are all philistines who don't like board games, or you just want to meet some new people, Tuesday evenings are open gaming so you can come and join a group and maybe play something new. The fourth Sunday of each month is PlayTest, where you can bring a board game you are designing, for members of the public to play and give you feedback.

We opened The Victoria in early 2008 after many years tending bar at Raoul's down the road. We have always had a passion for the British boozer and we really wanted to create a pub with great drinks, a world away from brewery owned chains, which we like to call an anti-gastro pub. Victors is a Hamptons-inspired restaurant & bar offering a menu of modern American small plates, located on the terrace at Westgate shopping centre.

We're an 18th Century traditional village pub, serving modern and classic British pub food. We welcome families and dogs to our large garden in the summer and our cosy wood burning fireplace in the winter.

Menu includes homemade lasagne, salads and cakes, and the prices are very reasonable.
